Fall Prevention

Falls are a major cause of injury and death for people over the age of 65. The probability of falls increase with age and the decline in an individual’s physical status. Our therapists will perform an evaluation to the patient to assess any muscular weakness or balance problems which may contribute to falls. Based on the findings an individual program will be designed to prevent the risk of falls in and out of the home.

Our therapists will also assess the patient’s home for any hazards. Recommendations will be made to optimize safety within one’s own environment where most falls occur.
